Tariff design that drivers accept
Pricing models compared: flat, time-of-use, spot-linked and fees for staying plugged in.
Flat price per kWh
Easy to explain, but you carry the risk when the energy price moves.
Time-of-use
Two or three price bands. Moves charging away from the evening peak where drivers have a choice (home, work).
Spot-linked
The price follows the day-ahead price every 15 minutes, plus grid fee, energy tax, markup and VAT. Fair and transparent, but show drivers the price before they start.
Per-minute and idle fees
A fee per minute after charging ends frees busy chargers. Keep it predictable and show it clearly.
A floor price
Spot prices can go negative. A minimum price keeps every session covering fixed costs.
